  1. First of all you can take out the trash. You are probably aware that everything you toss into trash remains there until you choose to empty it, but you mayn’t know few applications have their own versions of trash that functions the same way. For example iphoto, at first you can keeps the deleted pictures and movies in its personal trash, which located in iphoto; s side bar. You click on control button and re click on trash and then you can choose empty trash.
  2. You have to clean up startup items. You can find out what is in your startup items list by navigating to apple menu and click on items. You may be surprised at how many there are to remove them? You can select the item by clicking on its name and then hit the “minus” button at the bottom of the list. However be sure that you know what you’re removing.
  3. You have to necessary to get rid of mail downloads when you receive attachments you email message, the files are stored with your message at first. If you open the attachments to view it or you have to choose quicklook it, mail will store a copy of it in your user name or library/ mail download folder. You can generally delete these files without any worry.
  4. You can log in ichat. You probably use ichat a lot chat with your friends, but what you mayn’t know is this applications saves transcript of your conversation in a folded called ichat in your document folder. If you are look inside the ichat folder, you’ll see that the files are organized by date, while you may have other months of files you can trash, saving a lot of disk space.
